Just about ready!

Hello! Wow, it sure has been a while.

Work on the game has been pretty difficult with life getting in the way, having to learn new skills, and general organization issues... but I'm very happy to say that Chapters 1 & 2 are finally about to be released! We're aiming for December, all that we really need to take care of is double checking for bugs. And an alternate version of a background we forgot to get done, but if that doesn't get done before then we're releasing what we have.

The chapters will be available in a $3 bundle, but for the first couple of weeks they'll be on sale for $1.50.

Our current sprites aren't really up to snuff, (according to Elly) and there will be an updated version available for no additional charge whenever those new sprites are ready. Expect there to be a total of about 7 chapters. Next year will hopefully also be a double chapter release, but after that there will probably be one chapter released a year. Cyan's route requires a lot of context from Riley and Prism's, and it'll be released separately at $5 for all 6 chapters. I'm hoping that we'll be able to release it around the same time as chapter 7, but we'll see.

I'm now involved in 2 other projects, I have a proper job at a game studio, and Elly is also starting their own solo project.

I started writing and working on this when I was about 19 after I dropped out of college. During that time, a lot of important people in my life ended up passing away one right after the other. The grief was overwhelming, I felt like I was drowning, and I didn't know if I could ever pick myself back up. This game helped me realize that there was something else I could do and reminded me to keep going. I realized my calling in game design with Aspen, and while it's a very simple game it's still something I'm very proud of.

Jacqueline was created to make me feel like I wasn't alone in my depression, that I wasn't a failure, and that different people follow different paths in life. Going with the flow can sometimes be a good thing, and as long as you're doing it with good friends who care about you, everything will work out. You might have to look more than you'd like to find the right people, but when you do it's totally worth it.

I have no idea how many people are going to play this. I'm not the greatest at showing people the things I make, and keeping people in the loop on my progress is clearly something I am straight up horrible at. I feel like the people that played the demo in its original state back in like 2018 might have completely forgotten that this is even being made. If you're still out there, hey. Good to see you. Hope you're doing well.

This might have been a deeply personal project, but I hope everyone that plays it does it with a smile on their face.

It was worth the wait, and I hope everyone else thinks so too. I'm pretty out of practice when it comes to drawing, but...
